Anthropic’s Valuation Soars to $350 Billion with Microsoft and Nvidia Backing
Anthropic's valuation has surged to approximately $350 billion, fueled by substantial investments from Microsoft and Nvidia. Microsoft committed up to $5 billion, while Nvidia plans to inject up to $10 billion, catapulting the startup well beyond its $183 billion valuation from September.
Microsoft's MOVE diversifies its AI portfolio beyond OpenAI, where it already holds a $135 billion stake. The partnership with Anthropic strengthens its position in an industry increasingly reliant on cloud spending, GPU access, and compute supply.
As part of the deal, Anthropic will purchase $30 billion worth of Azure compute capacity from Microsoft, with an option for an additional 1 gigawatt of power. Nvidia will supply up to 1 gigawatt of compute from its upcoming Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems to power future iterations of Claude.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang hailed the collaboration as a 'dream come true,' emphasizing joint efforts to optimize Claude's next models for Nvidia hardware. The alliance underscores the growing convergence of AI development and high-performance computing infrastructure.
